Preparing for the Future: Mandatory Changes, New Opportunities – Are You Ready?
From 2026, new EU packaging regulations will fundamentally reshape the operational framework of the food industry and packaging technology. The reduction of non-recyclable plastics and the shift towards bio-based and recyclable materials will not only be a requirement but a matter of survival and competitiveness in the market.
The Hungarian pilot project implemented under the CircSyst initiative — which will be presented in detail at the event — offers pioneering, tangible solutions to packaging challenges. The project focuses on eco-design-based developments, testing innovative and sustainable materials, and examining their industrial-scale applicability, with the active involvement of 10 food industry companies.
We hereby kindly invite you to our workshop on 28 May 2025, where industry players, researchers, and decision-makers will collaborate to turn packaging from an obstacle into an opportunity and advantage on the path toward a circular economy.

10:30 – 11:00 – Session I: “Vision” – How do we see the future of packaging in our region from a circular economy perspective?
11:00 – 11:30 – Session II: “Back to the Future” – What steps are needed to achieve this vision?
11:30 – 12:00 – Closing session: “Building Blocks of the Future” – Concrete actions towards sustainable packaging and a circular economy
