In the mid-term period of implementation of the Horizon Europe programme, it is appropriate to assess the results achieved so far and the way in which the remaining years will be articulated.

Therefore, on 28 November 2024, the 12th Conference of the European Union’s Research and Innovation Framework Programme was held at the Oviedo Exhibition and Congress Palace under the motto “Beyond the Horizon”. At the conference, the first years of Horizon Europe’s programme were analysed, where it was observed that Spain has had a relevant share. Indeed, this involvement can be expected to generate significant social, environmental, and economic impacts in the different geographical areas.

In this context, the CircSyst project was featured through a dedicated poster, showcasing its main objectives and the existing synergies among its nine demonstrators. These synergies were explored alongside other initiatives and with input from key stakeholders, including policymakers, representatives from the scientific and technological sector, such as universities and technology centres, and businesses.

Furthermore, the event served as a vehicle to share and consensually evaluate the future Research and Innovation Framework Programme planned for the 2028-2034 period. A long and motivating path lies ahead, paving the way for the Spanish business fabric, and consequently the European one, to be positioned at the state of the art in the international economic context.
