SUMMARY:Biowaste replication workshop and study visit
DESCRIPTION:As CircSyst develops and tests nine holistic circular models\, a key aspect of these solutions is ensuring their replicability potential. To support this goal\, CircSyst will hold a series of replication workshops and study visits\, one per value chain\, designed to foster peer learning\, exchange experiences\, and promote the transfer of circular systemic solutions (CSS) across regions and value chains. \nThe first of these events will take place on 5–6 November 2025 in Lahti\, Finland\, focusing on biowaste solutions. It will bring together project partners\, external stakeholders\, and members of the Community of Practice (CoP) to explore how lessons from CircSyst’s Finnish and Spanish demonstrators can inspire replication in other contexts. Participants will gain practical insights into circular biowaste management\, discuss enabling conditions for replication\, and connect with experts and innovators from across Europe. \nHosted by our Finnish partners\, LAB University of Applied Sciences and the University of Helsinki\, and co-organised by EURADA\, the workshop will be held in hybrid format (in-person and online)\, followed by exclusive on-site study visits for in-person attendees. \nHighlights from the programme include: \n5 November \n\nThe biowaste replication workshop (8:30 to 12:00 EET / hybrid) at Lahti Science Park\, which will introduce the project’s biowaste demonstrators\, feature CoP interventions\, highlight success stories\, and foster interactive discussions on replication challenges\, among others.\n\n\nA networking lunch (12:00 to 13:00 EET).\n\n\nA guided tour of LAB Laboratories (13:00 to 13:45 EET) in the LAB Campus.\n\n6 November \n\nSite visiting of the Kujala Waste Center (13:00 to 15:00 EET)\, with transport provided by the consortium.\nThe visit of the DEMO 5 Pilot Plant (15:00 to 16:00 EET)\, gaining first-hand insight into how circular biowaste solutions are being implemented in the Päijät-Häme region.\n\n  \nCheck the tentative workshop agenda here. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect research with practice and explore replicable good practices in real-life settings. \n  \nYou may register your attendance by filling out this form by 22 October 2025. We look forward to welcoming you in Lahti!

SUMMARY:CircSyst General Assembly and 40th AER - Assembly of European Regions Anniversary
DESCRIPTION:CircSyst’s second General Assembly will take place 17–19 June in Maribor\, Slovenia\, alongside the 40th‑anniversary conference of the Assembly of European Regions (AER). \nThis event will focus on key European priorities such as sustainable development\, green transition\, digitization\, innovation\, entrepreneurship\, and social cohesion. It will provide a platform for knowledge exchange and partnership building\, with special attention to sharing best practices in circular economy. \nA highlight of the event will be the presentation of the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI)\, under which Podravje was selected as one of 12 regions in Europe to receive support for implementing circular solutions. The CircSyst project\, aligned with the CCRI\, is already driving sustainable progress in the region. \nThis event aims to showcase successful circular practices and foster collaboration at both regional and European levels\, contributing to sustainable growth and increased competitiveness for local businesses. \nSet in the Podravje region\, one of CircSyst’s nine demonstrator areas and a CCRI Pilot\, the three‑day meeting will reunite all partners and deliver a first‑year progress review\, highlighting achievements\, challenges and next‑step synergies. Sessions will delve into the green transition\, the bioeconomy\, sustainable development\, digitalisation\, innovation and social cohesion. Partners will also exchange know‑how with AER members\, CCRI peers and invited industry actors\, exploring how CircSyst’s solutions can align with regional policy priorities. The event is hosted by RRA Podravje‑Maribor\, whose director chairs the AER Working Group on the Bio‑Circular Economy. \nEvent Programme \n  AER-Circsyst GeA Slovenia AGENDA_v02062025
